An hour north of Prague, this was a very interesting and disturbing visit to this special Austrian fortress from pre-Czech Republic days, named for Empress Maria Teresa and built in the late 1700's, that was seized by the Germans and used as a prison and concentration camp. The museum has a short remnant of video made my the International Red Cross, which twice came to inspect the conditions, and twice were led to believe everything was just fine......

Archduke Ferdinand's assassin, whose actions quickly led to the start of WW1, was held here til his accelerated death.
