Sonia and Nacho (without guacamole), a Spanish couple who happens to be some of Johana's best friends, invited us for a day trip to Segovia. Segovia is one of the other hot tourist spots that you typically have to visit when in the Madrid area. It ranks in the same category as Toledo, and after a slow train ride from central Madrid, we spent the day wandering around the beautiful city. In particular I wanted to see the ancient Roman aqueduct as well as the Alcázar (a castle). They both impressed me, although we didn't have time to walk out of the city to get a view of the Alcázar from the impressive angle you typically see on all touristy postcards. There was just enough time for a short late lunch break tasting Cochinillo (Roasted Piglet) and some smooth Tinto, before starting on the return leg to Madrid.
