Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had a splendid time.

So it wasn't just laziness and convenience that made me book a flight to Europe on January 15th, and hence stay down in Argentina over Christmas and New Year, instead of going back to Norway to celebrate with family and friends. I had actually arranged to meet and go on holiday to Punta del Este with a good friend down here, you may very well recognize her from the photos in the next blog entry. And then I also ended up meeting another friend (her father and younger sister lives in Buenos Aires), don't be surprised if you recognize her as well.

Of course I have met many fantastic people on this trip; boys and girls, men and women, backpackers and locals. Most of the last month of my trip before I go to Europe, I have however spent with two of the people who have meant the most to me down here in Latin America. They both happen to be women and locals. If that's coincidence or pure hot-blooded calculation I'm not exactly sure, only thing I know is that I enjoyed it a lot.

As I just mentioned, I spent Christmas in Argentina, mainly in and around Buenos Aires. But I also plan to spend another week in fashionable Punta del Este, Uruguay, as you will see in the next blog entry, before I head for Europe. So it was another not so ordinary Christmas for me (I'm getting used to them), without family, snow, freezing temperatures and tons of Christmas packets under a Norwegian julegran. I did however have excellent food and drinks, as well as very good friends to share it with. Entonces, no complaints.
