Earlier today my brother and I went through all the places we would like to visit in Ecuador, Colombia (we may go there for a few days before we go to Brazil), along the coast of Brazil, Uruguay (possibly) and Argentina. And with just a couple of days in each place, we managed to arrive in Buenos Aires sometime in late January. Considering we plan to go home from Buenos Aires on December 20th, it's pretty clear that we won't be able to visit all those places. For the first time I really felt that I am getting close to the end of my trip (at least my Latin America chapter). I don't have all the time in the world anymore.

Most of all we would have liked to travel the whole coast, from Colombia to Buenos Aires, via Venezuela, the Guianas, Brazil and Uruguay. With side trips inland of course. But that would probably have taken us another six months, or at least far more than the two months or so we got left. Looks like we have to start being picky about our destinations soon. For example, there's still lots of places I wouldn't mind seeing in Ecuador, but I think we'll just have to skip them for now. I have been down in the Andes chain for more than six months now, so at the moment there's other places that's far more tempting to visit. So we'll probably work our way quickly to Quito and then either fly to Brazil (most likely Salvador or Natal) or take a few days in Colombia first. Wouldn't mind visiting Medellin and also go back to for example Cali, Cartagena and Bogotá...
