Where I stayed
We dumped our stuff and walked into town, where we spend two hours and had an absolute nightmare trying to find an atm that would take our bankcards. It seems that all over South America it´s going to be a pain in the rear to get cash with our Aussie cards. ***NOTE: Bankwest cards are a waste of time in any country apart from Aus!!!*** After this debacle we had a really nice dinner and a good night just hangin out at the hostel and organised our boat trip for the next day
We got up had brekky and made our way into town, where Steve got some new havianas (less than AU$8, he was stoked. We got some food and drink for the day and headed down to the jetty to embark on our ship ´Banzay´! The boats here are awesome, brightly coloured pirate ships with sun beds on the top and white leather lounges in the shade - plus a full bar! We were on the sun lounges - of course! - with two English girls and a Canadian guy we had met on our crazy bus ride to Paraty. We snorkeled, drank beers, sunbaked and best of all beach and island hopped all day! Jumping off the top of the boat provided heaps of entertainment and swimming in the amazing island and mainland beaches was fantastic! That night we all had a few drinks and dinner at the hostels and said our goodbyes as it was time for all of us to move on!
Next stop is Trinidade as Paraty is nice enough but you have to travel to get to a nice beach, Trinidade is meant to be one nice beach after another...=)
