Zaikocirco (Psycho Circus)

Zaikocirco. The name of the show is a merger of the terms psycho and circus. The evening was a musical extravaganza with fantastic costumes, makeup, juggling, stilt walkers, acrobats and interaction with the audience. LOTS!! The musicians in the group were from the Guadalajara Conservatory so it was top notch! The only downbeat was the circus performers wanted members from the audience to get up and DANCE! DANCE! DANCE! and the Gringo line up on the front row would not participate. In the end the MEN ON STILTS found their dancers and children the fun began. The music at its roots was well performed by these outstanding musicians in spite of the fact they were all in fancy dress and dancing at the same time. One outstanding member was the bass drum player who insisted and got the audience to loosen up and have a good time
There was an amazing juggler with a crystal ball which seems to stay in place as he moved and manipulated it was an act I'd never seen before and he had the audience captive with anticipation of his next move. The last MOVE of the group was out doors. For their final act the member all left the stage and performed out front of the auditorium where many people joined in the fun and dancing.
The night's performance was a fund raiser for the Lakeside Spay and Neutering Center so a percentage of the take went to them. Such a worthwhile organization so regardless your ticket price was worth it.
There's still one more performance tomorrow night so if you missed tonight's run get your tickets tomorrow! You won't be disappointed.
February is filled with Concerts, The Northern Lights Music Festival, Cuban Latino dancing, Russian Ballet..... Just to name a few. We won't get bored.
Stay tuned for the latest development!!!
