Walking and visiting the Malecon is ritual observed by almost all people living in Mexico.  It's either the Malecon if they have one or the town plaza which is usually associated with a Catholic church.  Mexico is 90% Catholic.  The sometimes daily/weekly visit is ever changing and never seems to get old.  The Mexicans are so inventive. Here's one example.  They make fishing devices out of plastic coke bottles.  They wrap the line around the bottles and have then swing the three feet of remaining line with weight, hook and bait in the air letting it loose toward the lake and then pointing the bottle in that direction enable all the line to play out like an open face reel.  Pretty clever!!

We've grown accustomed to the little lady who weaves and displays blankets and rugs near the Malecon.  She's always there.  We asked the owner Yves restaurant about her.  He said she first comes and rakes and sweeps the place then goes back to her house and then drags one enourmous bundle of fabric on a two wheeler and returns home for a second.  She then throws the rope in the trees for her display then starts unbundling all her wares.  This takes about an hour and a half.  After getting her rugs displayed she starts her weaving.  Speaking to everyone who passes.  She sells for about three to four hours then has to start pack up all her blanket and rebundling them.  This is another hour and a half packing.   Tomorrow she will do the same ritual.
