Restless night but finally settled and didn't wake up till after 9:00. Breakfast at Guest House then taxi to More Shit bus station – honestly, that’s how its pronounced (Mo Chit) and is also a fair description !  We get tickets for the 20:30 departure this evening and then taxi back to the Guest House.  After only a few hundred metres it becomes obvious that the driver either doesn’t know where he is going or is trying to pull a fast one and take us on a roundabout route.  I point out that he should have taken a turn off and he says that he knows a better way.  I give him the benefit of the doubt for a few minutes more then he turns towards the city and huge traffic jams so I pay him less than is on the meter and we bale out in the middle of the road.  He is not happy but nor am I.  Walk around the corner and pick up another taxi who takes us back directly.  Stop near the Guest House where we go and eat an early lunch at our favourite noodle stall.
Back to our room for a shower and another kip.  Later I use the Guest House internet to upload my first few photos onto this blog.  The memory card from my camera crashes the computer but I am still a bit put out when they wont give me any of my 20p back !
We go down for a snack about 17:30 and check out at the last moment just before 18:00.  I drag our bags about 50m to the main road and start negotiating with taxi drivers.  As usual none of them want to do the trip to the bus station on the meter but all want 500Bht (10GBP) for what is usually about a 125Bht trip at this time of day.  After a few failures I at last find a chap who is willing to negotiate.  He wants 500 I offer 200 and we meet half way at 200 – well, it felt like half way to me.  The traffic wasn’t too bad and we reach Mo Chit about 18:45 in plenty(!) of time for our 20:30 bus.  We sit in the aircon hall for a while before making our way down to the chaos of the bus area just after 20:00.  We board right away and have great seats in the small downstairs section of the bus.  Good recliners with blankets and hopefully a few hours sleep ahead of us.
The bus leaves on time and we are soon making our way out of Bangkok.  As we taxied to the bus station a huge black cloud passed over head with very strong winds but no rain actually fell.  As we were leaving the city through a district called Rancid(?!) the streets were awash and people were wading knee deep in water.
