Goodbye 2012.
It is still very cold this morning but at least the horrible wind has dropped.
Jai's nephew Tia comes mid-morning with some people who want to buy some trees from Jai.  We take them out to the farm where they make a provisional selection of 10 trees at about 40GBP.  They willcome and cut them and cart them off sometime in the new year.
We have been having problems with the shower not heating water all of the time so I strip it down and redo all of the electrics.  Strangely Jai thinks that the problem is down to my poor workmanship and she gets an electrician to comeand check up on me.  He givesme the approval that my work is fine but ...  He is ableto read the instruction booklet that came with the shower which states that it has a built in cut out for the heater when the water pressure dropsto a certain level. We always have problems with the water pressure particularly in the morning and evening -just when we want to be showering !  There is absolutely nothing we can do about it but shower earlier in the late afternoon.

Jai's son Boy and his wife are home from Bangkok for a few days holiday to visit Norng Fin and pop in to see us for a bit.
I am feeling a bit sluggish after last nights beer and with a long night ahead of us I stretch out for a few hours rest.
I am sitting in the sun to keep warm whilst Jai prepares some food when Deu from the next door calls me round for a beer again.  His wife and family have gone visiting in Roi Et but he didnt fancy it and is home alone.  I spend an hour with him before we eat and then bike over to Pak Chong again.
John and Erm are having the party at their new farm and not their house so it is lucky that last night's wind has gone.  Far too much beer is drank as the night drags on but shortly before the midnight hour I get the rare, perhaps unique, opportunity to meet a real life Hobbit.  Now a lot of people arent going to believe this but it has to be true.  I have since checked the internet for a description of a Hobbit and he fitted the bill perfectly; "Hobbits are three and a half feet tall, normally, with heads of thick curly hair, and large hairy feet. They love to wear bright colors, expecially green and yellow (or red) and are usually a bit on the plump side. they also like to to eat mushrooms and won't share there mushrooms to any other hobits. they also live in small burrows and live in the centre of the world."  We sat chatting for ages, me in English and him in Thai/Laos/Westron or Common Tongue.
We should never have taken the bike back to Khamnadie and needed the full width of the road to wander around on during the 15mins trip.
