A real example of Planet Stupid interference in the village came to my attention today. Our neighbours are in the process of having a small extensipon built to replace their old bathroom. First job was to have a few lorry loads of soil brought in to raise the height of the land above the water level when it rains. With great piles of fresh soil levelled out, the son in law from next door soaked it to help the soil settle. Almost immediately afterwards, whilst the fresh soil was still soaking wet and settling, he decided to drive a rice threshing lorry onto the top of the soil to help compress it. Surprisingly enough it immediately sank up to its axles !!! He tried forward and backwards but just dug the truck in deeper. He got another rice thresher lorry from their farm and tried to tow it out but ripped the bumper of the second lorry and snapped the cable as it was well and truely sunk in. Tried to dig it out and put boards under the wheels etc but nothing worked ....
To be fair, he is a nice lad and as far as the village goes pretty bright. We all make mistakes right ?!!!
