Lazy day making sure that all of our visa paperwork etc is in order and packing bags for a couple of days. We are picked up at 19:00 bya neighbour and driven into the bus station at Phon Thong. Bus is late but we are on our way just after 20:30. Make good time and stop for a toilet break at Khorat about midnight. This bus station is amazingly busy at all times. We only stop for 20mins but people rush to the restaurants for a ready meal which they shovel down with gusto whatever time of day it is. When you present your ticket here you are given a 15Bht (30p) voucher that can be spent at the station and everyone makes use of it. We usually end up with 3 cartons of soya milk that we keep in our room. Cant face much food in the middle of the night.
