With all of the family's rice bagged up now it turns out that Jai's sister Begat, whose son 'took care' of Jai's rice, ended up with 103 x 30kg sacks this year. It doesnt take a genius to see where the care and attention of the rice was centred this year and this makes Jai even more angry about things.
The squash that we planted out some time ago are flourishing. It appears that they are going to grow more as a vine though so I dismantle the frame I had put up around them and we cover the ground beneath them with rice grass.
