I dont think that there is any fear about winter storms beginning but this years rice harvest is now sat in sacks in our spare bedroom.
We were up at the crack of dawn again and head off to the farm.  I am not really sure what is happening today so will just go with the flow.  I leave Jai at the farm and go into town.
The e-mail that I sent to Bangkok about Jai's visa has now been passed on to the UK Border Agency in the UK so no doubt that will disappear into a bottomless pit somewhere never to surface again.  I am definitely flogging the proverbial dead horse here and will just have to bite the bullet and start proceedings all over again.  Oh what fun ... !!!
Whilst in Phon Thong I print out new copies of the application forms and supporting letters to be updated.
I go out tothe farm at 13:30 but the truck that is due to come and thrash the rice today still hasnt turned up so I head straight back to the house.  Jai returns home briefly in the evening but as soon as she gets back news gets through that the truck is on its way to the farm now so we both return.  Over a box of 12 beers and a bottle of whisky about 10 of us feed the stacks of rice into the thrasher and bag up the resultant grain.  An hour or so later there is 'grass' everywhere from the blower and a quick count looks like 50 30kg bags of boiling rice and 50 30kg bags of sticky rice.  Including the 3 bags we have already had processed, 103 x 30 kg bags this year; 3000+ kg.  A very good year.
We all head back to our house where another box of beer disappears whilst Jai is feeding everyone and we stack all of the bags of rice into our spare bedroom which could no longer be used as such.
I guess there will be some monet to be made from thius lot but after taking into account the costs of people working the rice, thrashing it etc I dont think it will be as much as Jai thinks.  They tend to forget money that has already been spent and see everything as profit !
Eventually turn in after quite a few beers and a lot of clearing up after everyone has left.
