Took Jai out to the farm at first light then into Phon Thong for some grocery shopping.  Upon returning home I had an idiotic moment when I decided that with Jai being otherwise engaged I would bake a cake.  After all, women all over the world do it so how hard can it be for a man ?!!  I followed the recipe to the letter, baked the cake for the recommended length of time and at the correct temperature but ...  check out the photo.  I think I must have slipped up with the amount of baking powder or, my excuse, the baking powder over here isnt as strong so needs more than the recipe stated !!  It still tasted OK though so all was not lost.  Next time I will leave it to Jai.
Go out to the farm in the evening to find that they have finished cutting the rice and are going around the fields bundling it up and bringing it back to the farm to make a stack.  Plan is for the lorry with the rice thrasher to come tomorrow and bag it all up.
