The fish at the farm do not seem to be getting any bigger in fact they appear to me to be disappearing.  I am not at all surprised that people would turn up when no-one was there and steal them but they were only about an inch or two long and couldnt possibly feed anyone yet.
On the subjest of food I made a pasta yesterday with some bolognese sauce brought from Gloucester, cheating I know but far easier than doing it myself.  This is probably the first time I have had a meal here since we got back without rice !!!
With no rain for the best part of a week now I have been busy working in the garden clearing away the forest of grass and weeds that have grown up.  In about a months time the weather will be ready for planting out so I have to get the ground prepared before we go to Chiangmai at the end of the month.  Planted a load of chilli, makua (baby aubergines) and tomato seeds a few weeks ago and they are fourishing under cover out of the strong rains.  Will need transplanting into the garden as soon as we getback.
Have also extended our orchid and flower garden at the back of the house.  Acquiring a load of bamboo from the farm, getting blisters from using the machete for a long time in the process, I have constructed a few rough frames for the orchids to hang from.  Bought a few new ones that were already in flower to brighten things up.  One of our old orchids from a couple of years ago has also produced its first flowers at last and are quite a picture.  The seeds that we acquired whilst in Laos are also flourishing and have just been planted out and the flowers we got from a house in the village just keep on spreading and spreading ...
