With a break in the rain and a clear(ish) sky this morning a weeks or so's laundry is shouting out to be washed.  My job is to fetch the water from the rainwater store we keep.  This is our laundry water, showering water, toilet flushing water, drinking water, well, everything really !!  Our monthly water bill usually reaches about 25Bht (50p) which includes a standing meter charge of 10 Bht - outrageously expensive yeah ?!!!
Our electric is even better.  If you use 90 units or less the local mayor picks up the payment for you and you dont get a bill at all.  We have only ever exceeded this once when we had a month where the meter read 91 units at the end of the month.  I tried to persuade the chap that it only said 90 but he wasnt buying it.  That month we paid about 5GBP.
We are always very close to the 90 and seem to average about 3 units per day.  31 day months, such as this one, are the most touch and go especially now that Jai has started using an electric oven for the cakes.
