Here's how we got here.....
Last night after a walk on the beach we got talking to the woman who is the manager where we are staying , and got some great info of how to get to our next destination.
The plan is, Boracay - Caticlan - Iloilo - Cebu. She also gave us a bit more info for how much we should be paying for transport and stuff. My advice..... always ask! you never know! works out we've been paying double what we should of been!
She also told us that she is from Iloilo city , and the builders of a small hotel next to our bungalows are all from Cebu, so all of a sudden everyone was like , do this , go there , do that!!
After we had all that sorted we carried on chatting , as i have been wondering how much the daily wage is over here and stuff. She informs me that the builders (who work 12 hour days and sleep on site) are on between 200-300 pesos a day. That's 4-6 euros! Yet every time we walk past they always smile and say hello and are cheerful! Even though i know they are checking out Lindas bum!!
I guess we don't know how fortunate we are sometimes!
So we say goodnight, pack the bags , i lose at cards , alarm set for 8am!
Now from what i have seen so far, every household is the proud owner of a Cockeral / rooster, whatever you want to call the damn things.
They must be , and have the world record for having the most annoying sound ever! Especially when they all seem to be having a competition who can do it 1. the loudest , 2. the most times in one night!! i cant descibe how annoying it is to lie in bed for hours listening to the little f****** going on and on!!
If i ever see it on a menu anywhere in a restaurant, i will make sure i will order it so there is one less in the world!
5am , 6 am , 7 am , sod this, i 'm getting up, quick shower, grab the bags (mine is a lot heavier than before!) , grab a tricycle, we're off again.....
Travelling so far over here as been so easy, finding the places , not waiting around, stuff like that matters when it's boiling hot! Hopefully today would be ok ,as it seems like a long journey!
We arrive at the pier, get on the small boat to Caticlan , and the big yellow local bus going all the way to Iloilo is waiting there , as if we booked it! As usual we are not prepared, not a clue how long it will take , no water to drink, and with Linda explaining that if i went to get water and the bus set off, then i would basically be, left there!
I decide to not get water.
And, off we go..... the bus is pretty full with locals, it even has a TV!! Only thing is, no sound! 1,2,3,4 hours pass, lunch, water , wee stop, 5,6...hours, and we arrive in Iloilo at 3pm thank god!! As advised from the lady last night we jump in a taxi, 30mins later we are at the port, 2 tickets , tourist class , one way overnight to Cebu,
Not having a clue when we get to Cebu, i start talking to the guy next to me whose name is Lan from a small island called Malapascua, more North from Cebu. He quite helpfully draws us a map of the islands surrounding Cebu , saying that Cebu is a 'not so nice place', and it's a city,Malapascua is the place to go, which i have also been told from a few of my friends back home. Guess we're off there then....
4 pm ,we board our ship , find our tourist class room. Tourist my ass, it's just like a big dorm with bunk beds, but its clean , and as per usual, bloody ice cold!!
7pm we set sail , take a look around the ship, grab some noodles , get on top deck ,and there is...... Videoke!! Something out of the 80's! After two songs we'd had enough, back to the ice cold dorm which had about another 20 people in there with us , and tried to get some zzzzzz!!
Guess i will be listening to different noises in the night tonight, just this time not by roosters!!
