After a leisurely start and a Skype with Kim and Jayne we caught the bus to meet Lisa at her hotel, we were looking to find somewhere for brunch but it ended up being lunch at the Hilton. We took a taxi from Lisa's, only about a mile but too hot and a little uphill to walk. We arrived at 12.30 and got an outside table overlooking the pool and sea.
It was a help yourself buffet, but there was just everything there and it all looked really nice. Well we paced ourselves, just had to get the most out of it. We needed Andy there really, sure he would have made a good dent in the buffet.
Claire wanted to go straight for the roast, I couldn’t bring myself to miss out so I tried the soup, followed by the smoked salmon, salad and even some sushi which is a new experience. It was really nice and I will now be brave enough to try it again. Now I was ready to catch Claire up on the main course. I had the roast beef and Claire the roast ham with all the trimmings. I only had a small portion – it was only lunch time.
The rum and raisin bread and butter pudding went down a treat with a cup cake and coffee. We had spent nearly 3 hours eating. It was a fantastic meal and we had a great time. Only trouble was getting out of the chairs!!
We had to sit on the beach all afternoon just letting our food go down, we won’t need to eat now until we get home. We chatted the afternoon away, well Claire and Lisa did, when those two get going about the uni days!!!! We had a very peaceful afternoon and struck lucky on happy hour, so we couldn’t not have half price afternoon cocktails, could we?
Then peace was shattered when the karaoke started. Some were ok but others really shouldn’t have bothered. It just didn’t seem right to be still light and hearing karaoke especially as we watched the sunset.
We had both had a great day and went back to our hotel to laze the evening away.
