Where I stayed
What I did
Friday
After a nice lie in today – 9am – we headed down to the restaurant for what was meant to be a Continental Breakfast. Well I was impressed! Bread, all sorts of bagels, scones, scrambled eggs, sausages, porridge, cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurts – you name it, it was there. Hats off to Hampton Inn South of Universal Studios! There is even free coffee and tea on tap 24 hours.
Chores had to be done then and we used the guest laundry to get some washing done. This thankfully has all dryed during the day in the room – darks load tomorrow. The little bits of the trip, not normally included on the blog, but as we have had a fairly lazy day today you get to hear about the mundane stuff as well.
We then went off to buy a Sat Nav, or GPS as they call it over here. They wanted to charge us nearly $100 to hire one with the car and Steve was sure we could buy one for this and keep it for future use. Even better than that, after navigating our way to Target we found one for $109 that we can load UK maps on – so guess what, I have a Sat Nav for my car too now!!!
This afternoon after a bit of a familiarisation tour we went to a hairdressers next to the hotel and had our hair's cut – feels so much better. Had to giggle when Steve was telling me about having his done – the guy did all in his ears and his eyebrows etc. I can just imagine Steve’s face when he was doing it........I’m his usual hairdresser!
This evening we headed out to Universal’s City Walk and had a look around. In my opinion this wasn’t as nice as the one in Hollywood – but it was still good to walk around until it started to pour with rain! We went to a Bob Marley restaurant and club for a meal – it was lovely. I had beef patties with Yucca fries and Steve had a chicken curry with rice and beans. So yesterday it was Brasilian today Jamaican. Great live band playing Bob Marley tracks and other reggae songs, I was in my element. Loved it.
Had to run back to the car park as it was still pouring down, let’s hope it is better tomorrow as venturing out to Kennedy Space Centre.

looking good ! Can't believe you will be home soon but will look forward to catching up. Good night photography Stevie. xxxx
I know there's lots to see & do around there but if you get the chance Downtown Disney is well worth a trip. The Cirque du Soleil production is pricey but bloomin good value.
Another session of getting uptodate with yer blogs ...... absolutely brilliant ..... can't stop giggling ..just imagining Steve having his hair cut along with his ears and eyebrows! Reminded me when we went to Orlando ... Gareth was in year six ... he went to the loo .... never seen him return so quickly ... a chap offered to wash his hands and put handcream on - we had to explain it was nothing sinister just their culture!!!!
Thanks for all the comments, didn't even use a tripod Kim, impressed? Thanks for the suggestion Guy, will check it out. Hazel, I was getting a bit worried he seemed to be enjoying cutting my hair a bit too much!!!
had to laugh about the hairdresser it made me think of Rod the barber said to him i,ve cut more hair out your F-----ing ears an off your eye brows than off your head. xxx
