Tuesday

We were all due to be going out on a mini cruise from Milford Sound today, however when looking at the map from home you just do not realise how far places are over here. In total it was going to take us 10 hours in the car for a 1 ½ hour cruise and we all decided that we would prefer the day in Queenstown to explore and have a bit of a relax and break from travelling.

After a morning Skype with Hayley & Laura and Millie, we went down to the town for breakfast outside in the sun.  Although there was a little nip in the air out of the sun, the weather was looking good for another lovely warm day.

We split up for a few hours to go and explore and ended up bumping into each other in the shops!  Got a few little bits and pieces for the boys and tiddlies, but have to be really careful now until we get to the States as our suitcase is under pressure!  Once in the States we are going to buy a new suitcase........more shopping!!!!!

Me and Steve then went and plonked ourselves on the beach for a couple of hours and lapped up the rays.  Although I am really careful about slip, slop and slap – I seem to have caught part of my legs today and have a reddy/brown natural pair of shorts on.  Very fetching!

Very peaceful there – me reading my book and Steve snoring!!!! (He kept me awake off and on all night last night with that bloody snoring........docs when we get home I tell you)

This afternoon, me, Steve and Jayne went out on a boat trip around the headland and down to another part of Queenstown and Dave went to the Kiwi Birdlife Park to see the Kiwi's being fed.  He had wanted to see one since we arrived in New Zealand, so this was his chance as he hadn’t got his sea legs on.   The cruise was gorgeous and it was so hot and Dave really enjoyed his afternoon too.

On the cruise you got a magnificent view of the mountain range they call the remarkable. It sure is remarkable, they look quite different to the mountains around them, they are so high and jagged, they almost look two dimensional. Milford Sound would have been beautiful but here was stunning too and without the drive.

Well it was so hot that we had to head for a beer once we disembarked.......and the evening went on from there really.

We have all been falling about laughing at Dave, he has been taking the mick about us writing the blog. He put on his Hitler voice and pretending to do impressions of Steve saying to me "You vill write ze blog" , “Zer must be no spelling mistakes” , “You must write ze blog now, I am Ze Blog meister”

Had an absolutely fabulous time here in Queenstown.  What a fantastic place – the most spectacular scenery, great vibe, good bars and pubs and brilliant weather. It even stays light here until at least 10pm and that is with the high mountains blocking the late sunshine.  What more could we ask for?
