Where I stayed
Last day of vacation. Spending most of the day at resort. We have a sunset cruise back in Zihua in the evening. We hung out drinking at the bar. For the most part, we drank pina colodas, beer and bloody marys throughout the trip. An occasional margarita thrown in there. We tried shopping again--not coming home with much. I totally suck at Mexican markets and the whole process.
Got a massage right on the beach. Only $25 a person for almost an hour. Was very nice. Todd and I both got one.
The cruise was on a big catamaran, the Picante. We went around the various bays in Zihua before heading out further towards Ixtapa. Todd got a little queasy so it wasn't that enjoyable for him. I liked it--got some good photos, had some decent beer (Sol) and then we all got a little worried as lightening appeared in the sky. Be warned, there are tons of pictures in this entry. It was a really pretty sky for a crappy, stormy night.
After escaping the storm unscathed, we were back in Ixtapa and decided to go back to Frank's for dinner. It's a local place owned by a Canadian. It had some good reviews on Trip Advisor. We liked it. Ate some of my new favorite snack--limes dipped in salt, followed by a good swig of beer.
We got rained on pretty heavily on the way back. Oh, well. We're getting used to it on vacation. We enjoyed our stay in Ixtapa. The resort was nice, food decent, very clean resort with a friendly staff. We got lots of reading and relaxing in. Didn't get off the beaten path really but that wasn't really the point in choosing an all-inclusive resort in a high-tourist area! We'll have to do it again sometime.
