We found ourselves in the 1st class section on the train and in the last group of 4 seats. It was so nice and comfy. I managed to stay awake maybe 10 minutes away from the station and I was out cold. Picture to prove it too. Marlin may have snapped one while I was sleep. Yep drooler! Apparently we were all tired and took naps of different kinds. We had another gal join us. I vaguely remember her joining us but she was quiet and on her computer most of the time. When I finally woke up about 15 minutes outside of Paris I found myself thinking "how does she wash her leather pants?" And then it digressed into "maybe I should get some"....And the record stopped. Bad news. Poor cow and chaffing. I needed to move on. The train took 2.5 hours and according to Marlin was clipping along at 300 km/hr. whoa! We arrived in Paris and kept our belongings close and headed for the taxi stand. We decided that after 20 hrs of travel it was time to not mess around. The taxi was lovely and cheaper than anticipated and took us to the Holiday Inn in Versailles after a quick and dirty tour of paris. We decided to stay outside the city and take in 2 areas. Plus free breakfast and wifi!!!! Our room is nice and big (according to european standards). The shower is a gem and more than one of us realized that in our hurry to switch bags we forgot a few items. Oh well, we will manage! The gal at the front desk claimed to be half French and half Californian. Nice combo. She gave us some great tips after a quick dinner in the lobby about how to go about site seeing tomorrow. Looks like rain in the forecast. Yikes!!
