Where I stayed
In Front of the Fire Station
6/23
not sure how many miles but I hiked from 0700 to 1830. I'm
tenting at the Allentown shelter. There's tons of boy scout around
here. Hiking was very rocky and slow. My feet r sore. It was also
90 degrees out. The water for the shelter is on a side trail that
brings u to the bottom of the mountain I'm sleeping on. So I had to
climb this mountain twice already! Enough complaining I'm ready for
bed.
6/24
17.5 miles. Staying at George Outer bridge Shelter. Slept really
well. Got a late start. It was really hot again today 90! There
were tons of blueberries! I ate tons and picked some to go with my
breakfast. Bagels and peanut butter. Are now better with fresh
berries! Not really too much going on just more rocks. They were so
steep at one point I had to put my poles away and climb. Well since I
got to the shelter so early I'm going to cook dinner now.
6/25
I'm writing this a week late. I think I hiked into wind gap with
green dog. I haven't seen him in many many miles. The rocks suck
still. Ended upa a seedy hotel with stained pillows and the door did
not lock.
6/26
decided to hang around to watch the world cup soccer game. The
US lost in OT. By the time the game was over it was already 4pm. We
decided to take a zero day. The bar we were watching the game at let
us camp behind it for the night. So that's what we did.
6/27
mental note. U don't rest good if your camping behind a bar. We
hiked into Delaware water gap. 18 mile day. We're staying at a church
and tenting out behind it. For dinner we found this farmers market
that had a special hot dog and apple pie of $2.50. I had two!
6/28
25 miles a big day. Left DWG with Green Dog and Kricket (that's
how he spells it). Hiked from 0800-840pm long day. New jersey is real
pretty however. The par we're in is rial and pretty. We had some nice
views and got to see the sun set over the ridge.
Later 4 of us got lost trying to find water after dark
6/29
watuaga NJ 19 miles we stayed at a trail angels house. Woke up
sore and tired after a long day. Hiking was nice again. I saw a bear
today on the trail. At the end of the day we were hanging around this
park and this lady drives up. Alice is a trail angel! She picked us
up. Drove us home. Washed our clothes. We (thin mint, greendog, and
Kricket) used her shower. Alice ordered us pizza and even bought us
beer. Alice's son is a former hiker. I slept upstairs on a pull out
couch.
6/30
20 miles. Tenting in front of the fire station on a busy street.
Alice drove trail us back to the trail. Nothing special happened just
a nice day of hiking.
