In Uppsala you definitely have reached civilised territory again. The cathedral looks new from the outside, but is old and venerable inside. The university has a few nice buildings and an interesting museum with a fascinating anatomical theatewr in the old main building. You can sit outside in street cafes on this warm summer day and enjoy the pleasant small town atmoshere.

Stockholm got merely a glimpse from the highway bridge when we passed though. I've been exploring there a few times before and will do so again in the future.

Where E 4 passes along Vänern lake we leave the highway and discover Sweden is at its best: Rolling hills are dotted with Falun red houses, small villages boast with serene rural settings, the forrests show off their fresh greeen and the lake glitters from below here and there. Man and nature at harmony, that's the impression you are getting here, the eternal Swedish summer promise.

The Helsingborg - Helsingör ferry is a nice and efficient alternative to the Malmö bridge. From the deck the travellers are rewarded with a beautiful view of Kronburg castle with its imposing silhuette, It is our destination for a wondeful evening stroll, before heading for the last overnight stay of the journey in Kopenhagen.
