Tomorrow we leave the relative comfort of our apartment and job in Tianjin for our month long jaunt around Europe that we have been planning before since we got here! The plan for Europe is as follows:
6th Nov - Leave Tianjin for Beijing airport by taxi. Hopefully leaving around 6 oclock will give us enough time to get to the airport for our 1.55am flight. Apparently there are lots of security checks on the highway to Beijing as the grand once-in-a-decade leadership handover is happening on the 8th Nov!
7th Nov - We fly from Beijing to Moscow then transfer onto our flight to Athens which, fingers crossed, should get us into Athens around midday
7th - 11th Nov - We get to enjoy the delights of Athens.
11th Nov - Fly to Rome
11th - 14 Nov - We get to enjoy the delights of Rome.
14th Nov - Train to Venice
14th - 17th Nov - We get to enjoy the delights of Venice.

As you can see it is going to be a pretty hectic month but we are going to be cramming a lot of sightseeing into it! We are very much looking forward to it and will keep you all posted as we make our way around the continent from WiFi hotspot to WiFi hotspot!
Since we are leaving work for the big trip we have had to hand over all our classes to the other Foreign Teachers who will be filling in for us while we are away. In some of our classes the children/parents were not told until this weekend just past. When the children in one of my youngest classes (3-4 year olds) were told that next week they wont have Laoshi (Chinese title for teachers) Evan they will instead have Laoshi Tomas their poor little faces dropped! It is clear that we will be missed while we are away!
On other date related notes we celebrated Halloween at the school last weekend. The kids came in all dressed up and went between different activities/games that the foreign teachers ran. We had to dress up too. See the photos for the ensuing mayhem!
