Howdy ya'll. We left Lufkin on Sunday and rode all the way to San Antonio via the Texas Independence Trail. We took the scenic route. Rather than driving through Houston we headed southwest along 94 through the Davy Crockett National Forest. Later we picked up 30 in Huntsville. We passed through Navasota, Brenham and finally came to La Grange where we stumbled on the Monument Hill & Kreische Brewery State Historic Site.
Here we stopped to stretch our legs and were able to enjoy beautiful
views of the Colorado River. Spoiler alert, there is no active brewery,
only one that has been closed for some time. Still very cool. After that
it was back on the trail to San Antonio.
