I decided to make my way on to Columbus. I definitely wanted to spend my day at the zoo because I heard it was the best in the nation
! It wasn't as big as I thought it was going to be, but they definitely had a lot of animals. The zoo is split up into continents so if you have common sense, it's easy to find the different animals. For example, the Australian area had kangaroos, lorikeets, and a koala. The kangaroo section wasn't even fenced in! So you could've walked right next to them but for the most part they are sleeping in the shade. They also had these cute little baby gorillas and they had 2 polar bears! This zoo is definitely better than the Washington DC zoo, which most of the animals aren't there anymore or they are dead. I would definitely visit this zoo again.
When I finally left the zoo, I drove around Columbus for a few minutes. It's definitely a bustling city and it was even more busy because it was around rush hour. I really couldn't stop and take many pictures so I decided that it was finally time for me to make my way home. I had a long 7 hour drive ahead of me that took me through the mountains of West Virginia and part of Western Maryland. Once I got back into Virginia, OF COURSE, there was traffic on 495 which had me sitting at a complete stop for about 20 minutes. Welcome home!!!
I was supposed to get up at 4:30am but my alarm didn't go off! So I woke up around 7am. Once I got moving, I drove around Cincinnati a little bit. It's a very cool city. Definitely my favorite city out of all the Ohio stops. I drove to the Mount Adams area which is up on a hill and overlooks downtown. There are lots of bars and shops and a nice view of the city. I parked at a condominium area but I figured I would only be there for a few minutes. I took some pictures of the Cincinnati skyline and then headed back towards downtown to go by the Bengals stadium. It was still pretty early in the morning so the city was a little on the quiet side. But it seems like a pretty cool city! Definitely one that I would like to come back and visit again.
