I opened the cover of the plane window and saw what I think was Afghanistan - the landscape looked amazing from up here. Then it hit me that this meant we'd be landing in 1 hour and I felt sick with nerves!
Once back on the ground I collected my backpack and had to carry it myself for the first time (thanx Roli), full I mean. Bloody hell. I'm supposed to carry this around all the time!!! Too late, so I stripped my daybag to my front to stop me from falling backwards and off I went.
I managed to get a prebooked taxi and I should have never got in it when he said 'Where is this. You know??' A cab driver who doesn't know where to go and a passenger who knows less than he does. Yipieh! So a 45min drive turned into a 1 1/2 hour one with four different people telling us 4 different directions. Delhi is big! Of course once we finally did get there he wanted more money because he had to use his phone and 'Petrol'. There's me trying to stay hard - not my fault it took so long! - but he wasn't having it and I was tired but next time I'll win!!!
First impressions of Delhi or India:
Bloody HOT and humid!
They really are bonkers when it comes to driving - my cab almost got squashed into a barrier by a bus and my cab driver almost drove over and into several people on bikes saying 'Is ok. Is ok.'
I've never seen wealth and poverty so close together and I've never seen so much poverty, a marble house with a pool enclosed by a fence and outside that fence on the foothpath next to the busy road and the rubbish a few makeshift tents with whole families living inside them... you do know about this before you leave but it's still a lot to take in when you see it for yourself!
... busy busy busy is all I can say about Delhi so far.
Missing all of you guys. Hope everybody's well!

So proud of you little sister, conquering the big world. Can't wait for more of your blog posts! I had to cry ... from laughing about your great and dry humor :) Keep up the spirit! Love you lots!!
hey mädl - freut mich das du doch noch gut angekommen bist. bin schon gespannt auf die kommenden gschichtln - und muss sagen das i schon a bissl eifersüchtig bin...
Hey nice to here you landed safely. My friend was talking about the wealth and poverty and he said that it's all bunched together and there is no middle ground it's just rich and poor. Keep your wits about you and enjoy the experience. P.s. I read your third blog before this one 'i'm so backwards'. It's good that you said 'NO' keep practicing. Missing you back in London. Can't wait for the next blog. xxx
Thank you everyone! Really nice to know people are thinking of me and proud of me. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
