25th

Yesterday evening we drank something with Lucca. He has the guesthouse just for a year, but he is very happy living in Siem Reap.

Our tuk tuk came to pick us up at 8:00 in the morning. We had the minivan at 8:30 leaving for Phnom Penh. The trip was quite heavy again. The road is terrible and our driver just ignored it and drove as fast as possible. But we survived this trip again. I think we have a wonderful guardian angel. I am actually sure of that! :) The way from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh is really worth the travel . You see many villages, animals, people on bikes, beautiful rice fields and the Tonle Sap river. It was fantastic.

We arrived at 13:30 and our hotel is called Princess hotel. It is located in the Royal Palace area. We booked it with Agoda and it was a last minute promotion. This is the reason that we are staying here because normally is quite expensive for our budget nowadays. It is nice to have some luxury again at least for two days.

We walked until the Mekong river and then we went to the Central market. We saw the Royal Palace. There were many people there because of the celebration of the death of the king father Sihanouk last October. There are many monks here. It is lovely to see them everywhere. They laugh all the time and we can make pictures of them. They are cool with that.

In the evening we had dinner at the Mekong river. We ate Amok shrimp. It was very good. Afterthat we took a tuk tuk to come back to the hotel. We are very tired from the trip and walking for hours. But it was a wonderful day.Stefano is already half a sleep watching Harry Potter. Just like his mom would.

Our impression of Phnom Penh is very positive. It is a very nice city with simpathetic people. We are glad that we chose to come here even after some people telling us that they did not like it here. Strange!

Cambodia is less developed than Thailand, but the people are very nice. They are kind and laugh all the time.

I am just sad to see many children dirty on the strees working. It looks like Rio when I was very small. I hope Cambodia will change like Brazil did the last decades.

It is extremely hot here and we will be happy to arrive in Kep on Sunday. Kep is on the coast. We are curious.
