Day 86 - 31st  March

We were finaly leaving Kajurahoo today.  Rach was feeling a little better but not perfect and when the hotel guy offered us a non air con room for the afternoon we haggled on the price and accepted it.  We headed round about 6 internet shacks in the hope we could print out tickets eventually having some luck.

We got a Thali from room service in the afternoon.  The guy came back with the change short of 100 Rupees saying we could get the rest from reception.  Of course when we checked out later the guy at reception was reluctant.  And after much talk with other staff they decided that the bill for the hotel that we had settled this morning had been wrong by 100 Rupees and so they were now just taking this back.  We both went mental at the guy. He had already tried to do us out of 100 this morning when copying out the totals.  I had noticed that 150 had miracoulously turned into 250.  Once, could be a mistake, butthis kind of thing happens continuously in India.  We were furious and the guy backed off giving us our money.  It's actually the fact that they talk over you that annoys me the most, you never get a chance to argue you case unless you also resort to talkingover them. Yet another relationship with Indians ends on a bad note.  What a shit place!

I had started talking to a couple of Polish guys who were also heading for the 'Taj Express’ train.  We all shared an auto-rickshaw to the station, I rode up front with the driver who seemed quite proud that he had made a Polish girl pregnant and she was now returning to India.  If this is true I can only hope that she sees sense and statys in Poland.  Once at the station we waited on the ‘end of the line’ platform for the one train out of Kajuraho, with a circle of Indian’s all staring at us in the way that only Indian’s can.  Completely devoid of emotion and as if it is the most normal thing in the world.  Indian’s would definitely win the  World cup staring championshipos.

It was around 7 in the evening and we were due to arrive in Agra at around 3 am.  The good news was that this was also the Poles plans so at least we would have company.  We had opted for side berths in A/C 3 which would give us our own space and also mean we had more head room as there is only 2 berths at the side.  The bad news you are side on to the passage with no curtain.  The other bad news was that we were at the end of the carriage next to the passage door meaning the air con was much less effective and also it was noisier with people continually openingthe door.  Add to the that, the loud family across from us , complete with noisy kid of course, and it was obvious that even although we would be getting up at 2am it would be  a long night.
