After the great breakfast at the B&B we drove to Vannes located on the southern half of Brittany at the very end of an inlet. The harbour is only large enough for leisure craft but well used with walkways  and parks on either side.  As we approached the harbour area we could hear this commotion going on (like at Jack the Slashers)  only to find out they had a Zumba Party going on. At the end of the inlet you can walk through a gate in the old ramparts to access the old town. The streets are lined with cobble stones and a few are for pedestrians only. The ramparts separate the old town from a great little park that has a creek flowing through it. Everything is really neat and colourful. They are having an Photographic exposition in the park at the moment and things are quite lively. You can tell spring is coming with all the flowers and trees in full bloom. Entering the old town again from the other end of town you walk through the old prison tower gate up to the Cathedral Saint Pierre. Just past the cathedral is Place Henry IV surrounded by medieval buildings dating back to the 15th century.. The two tallest buildings seem to almost meet across the street. I read somewhere there are 272 classified historical monuments within the city.
Plenty of things to see and do until we hop back into the car to get to our next Hotel. As we pulled off the highway to township of Savenay we could see this commercial centre on our left with the carpark pretty packed outside a restaurant called Flunch. We decided to check the place out as it seemed pretty popular (we'll know better next time). It's like a bad version of Sizzlers. After Flunch we drove to our Hotel by the Lake where we went for a stroll . The Hotel was pretty good except it didn't have curtains. Luckywise we don't get daylight until just after 7am.

Wow, this one came into my normal mail rather than Spam. Maybe Madrid allows things Australian providers don't! Anyway, I cleverly searched under previous entries and seem to have caught up with your exploits.
Am in Madrid and agree about Spring having sprung! Only about 13 degrees here but feels quite good! Hasta la vista! Chris
