After coming home from the dentist and flaking out on the warm floor, I got a message from K.

"Hey where are you?"

"At home, why?"

"OK, I'm coming, we are going to the sea."

"OK... see you soon!"

He didn't tell me what was going on, but we drove for a really long way and then all of a sudden stopped in a parking lot in the middle of nowhere. K said we are "switching cars" and then we got into a fancy SUV with a very fancily dressed man. For a minute, I thought maybe I was being kidnapped and taken to North Korea... but it didn't turn out that way.

The whole drive there, K and his smartly dressed friend Lee were chatting away in Korean. I was staring out the window, trying to remember where exactly they were taking me to sell me to the communists, so that I could tell the police later. I tried distracting my brain away from these paranoid thoughts by remembering my favourite boy and hoping that he would come and rescue me from the North Korean work camp that they must have been secretly transporting me to. I mean what other reason were they "switching cars" for? They couldn't have been carpooling to save gas right?

What really happened though, was we went to the tourist town of Boryeong, home of the famous mud festival. They had invited K there to sample their live fish and write about it on his blog. This dapper looking fellow had something to do with K's blog, he was not a member of an evil communist gang after all.

We ate LOTS of seafood, including sea cucumber and live octopus which was boiled alive on the table in front of us (they get so scared that they squirt all of their ink out into the pot and then you get this black liquid in which to boil the rest of the seafood that you eat).

We had "bird fish" which is some type of shellfish, a HUGE PILE of oysters, all kinds of sashimi, and of course as much somek as we could drink. Enjoy my crazy videos.
