Walking back home from the Women's Day dinner last night, I was a still a little frazzled and frustrated.
But as I rounded the corner to my apartment on Boot Lake Rd., I found myself in the midst of the wilderness, on the bank of a beautiful frozen river, in a frozen wonderland.
I definitely understand why people live here. I wish I could stay longer, but San Francisco is on the other line...

Oh my god. You guys are coming right the heck over and we are having a suburban double date.

A utilidor is this long corridor that they have to build between buildings so that people can get heat and water etc. etc.
Because of the permafrost, the pipes can't be buried underground.
