We all got a really nice sleep last night and then we began the trek back home. We stopped in at Bar Harbour, had breakfast at Tapley's (I do not recommend the corned beef hash), and then hightailed it back to Canada.

It was raining the entire time. I couldn't believe it, but Andy drove the WHOLE way back.

We tried to find Keith's favourite cereal that they only have in the U.S., but we couldn't. We meandered through Vermont and New Hampshire on Highway 2.

We stopped in St. Johnsbury, Vermont for some AMAZING pizza, then headed straight home on the interstate.

Of course it's always easier to get back into Canada than to leave it. Andy had to be interrogated again, but less harshly this time, and the border guards went through all our stuff a second time. We weren't smuggling anything so we were good to go.

oh, the Land of the Free...
Early '80´s in San Antonio int. Airport (Texas):

I was coming back to México, and I was bringing new toys to my sons (6 & 8 year old): a huge Lego plus a big bag of marbles.

In a small square room, a lady Officer was checking my bagage under a metallic arch, when alarms went on all over that Airport...(all over San Antonio, so loud they were !)

Very seriously, the lady 'asked' (in a Dachau tone) to open my bags. With the corner of my eyes, I could see 4 officers more unbuckling their weapon holsters as they advanced towards me fron every corner with gorila atitudes...and walk !

Then the lady officer pulled out the bag of marbles, and said with surprise: 'Oh, Marbles !'

'What did you think I had in my bag?' I asked with equal surprise.

'Bullets' she snaped back. Then I remembered...I have a bullet in my lower spine: a 1963 hunting accident, when a 7 year old inadvertedly fired a rifle inside my car...I shut my trap ! No way I could explain that in the 'Land of the Free'...maybe my 'terrorist face' alerted them...

Big kiss from México, the Land of 'War against drugs'...that the 'Land of the Free' consume freely...
