It's Christmas!!!
Vancouver has offered us some great festive events. It all began with our Canadian Christmas Dinner which we cooked for Hilda at the house.  On the menu was roast deer and all the trimmings. The star-troupers did well and even managed a chocolate pudding. I tried to be Nigella and Matt was Gordon!!!
It was a great evening with lots of laughing and wine. We sampled our first proper egg nog - Mmm! We also decorated the front door, so Hilda new Christmas had arrived.
Next was Stanley Park Christmas lights and train ride - it was a clear winter night and I LOVED the fairy lights!
We had afternoon tea with an English couple called Stan & Margaret. We had met them on the bus a few days earlier - heard my English accent!.  What a great couple, they moved to Canada in the 1950's but are still very English. They were very hospitable and it was a cozy afternoon.  We know we will see them again. That night we went to a comedy club to see festive improvisation - great setting and exactly my kind of thing. Kept looking for Richard Vranch at the piano but he wasn't there! Other highlighths include the Christmas tree display, gingerbread village, Imax 3D HD of 'Polar Express', the Van Dussen light display - very romantic and the santa parade in town.

Over to Matt.....

nearing my limits of stay in vancouver, its not all bad but theres no way on earth i would stay here over this miserable season, with the weather that is.
we have been lucky but its turning here now, according to the our friends it usually rains for weeks non stop.  our recent highlights were the many light displays in parks etc as seen in the festive pics.  oh and i went on another solo exploration in to a wonderful forest walking amongst the tree tops with blankets of moss everywhere.  below, a canon with glacial waters carving through the landscape.
the camera has limped home but is now completely inoperable, so thankful that it has enabled me to capture images of a lifetime.......
and so we come the end of our adventure.......for now!  the bloggers have been fantastic and we have enjoyed our journey and all the comments.  see most of you back in England!

Em again - We have had a truly wonderful time and are busy planning trip 2! It's been super to have everyone accompanying us via the blog. Here is to an adventure filled 2009.
