A bit gritty and rough on the edges,
Dangriga was the real deal. The first night, we found a perfect spot under a huge tree along the beach. We spent the entire day there, just relaxing and enjoying the breeze. So much time in fact, we missed out on visiting all the places we had come to town for… By the time we realized that it was Friday and all those spots are closed on the weekend, it was also too late and they were already starting to close for the day. We were looking forward to visiting a popular hot sauce factory, but were left high and dry. At least the breeze was nice. The second night in town, our favorite spot had been flooded by the rains overnight. Unfortunately, that was pretty much the only tree in town near the beach. We finally found one palm tree a little out of town and spent the day avoiding the sun. We'd have to move the van every couple hours to realign ourselves under the shade, but it worked out alright.
