Just before the border we spent a couple days at the beautiful Lagunas de Montebello, home of a ton of ridiculously blue lakes.  Epic really.  We had a prime camping spot in the trees along one of the bigger more accessible lakes.  Steve finally got to try out his slick hammock (which is awesome by the way).  Didnīt do too much other than relaxing and prepping for the border crossing.

Since we had some good free time, we were able to install protection against robbers with slim jims so that they canīt open the door locks.  We also finally got around to stitching in our hidden pockets in all our pants.  Yeah maybe this was all a little past due, but better now than never.  It was quite nice in Mexico and we always felt extremely safe and welcome.  Thatīs not to say itīll change in Central America, but who knows...

The last night we were there, a group of 25 people came through...  It was ridiculous, but they were surprisingly quiet for the group size.  It was also quite strange because usually Mexicans (or Guatemalans) donīt really do the camp thing.  We were shocked that they even had the right gear.
