Where I stayed
Grossest (and Cheapest) Hotel Ever
Upon arriving in Morelia, a beautifully preserved Spanish colonial city, we found the dirtiest, but cheapest hotel in all of Mexico. It was about half the price of all other budget hotels and we were gettting quite grimey at this point. Somehow, we were convinced that it was going to be ok and it was at the right price for our cheap selves. The location was also perfect, located in the heart of downtown. Ok, so words wonīt do the grime justice. You really just have to see the pictures for yourself. In hindsight, weīre still surprrsed we actually stayed at that place. Itīs a wonder what a grimey dirty body will let your mind decide (well, that and a couple of beers).
Back to Morelia... what a beautiful city! The old colonial buildings and churches were the most beautiful weīve seen yet. The people were friendly and the plazas were bustling, like most Mexican cities. It looked like a old European city that wasnīt destroyed by any wars. I guess thatīs what happens when the Spanish pump a gang of money into the town back in the day.
Ugh, that hotel was gross! Weīre writing this 2 weeks after the fact and still feel dirty about it...
