So, the time has come for us to leave Europe (for now, I know for a fact at least of 2 of us returned in the next year!). We were again leaving on two separate flights from Charles de Gaulle Airport, to be reunited in Ottawa to fly home to Saskatoon.
I was again on the first flight, which happened to be the same flight that 2 other high schools from Saskatoon were flying home on, so it was weird to run into people I know while in the middle of the Paris airport! It was super sad to have to leave Kevin at the airport, we all really grew to love him! Sam was on the same flight home as me again this time, but we weren't sitting anywhere near each other. I got to my seat and found that I did, thankfully, have a window seat, but i was sitting by two people I knew were from Saskatoon, but didn't know all that well. So basically it was a long 7 hour flight to Toronto involving me not speaking at all. Neither of them even woke me up when food was brought around. Thanks?
I ended up doing mostly sleeping and watching movies on this flight. I watched Revolutionary Road (waaay too depressing) and Slumdog Millionare (awesome!) to make time go by quicker.
We arrived in Toronto where we had a little bit of a layover before the flight to Ottawa, so everyone could grab some food (and Tim Hortons!) and take a break. We then got to Ottawa, where we had yet another layover, so we all got more food and Tim Hortons! The plane we would get on from Ottawa to Saskatoon would be the same plane that the rest of our group was on, coming from Montreal.
Finally, it was the last flight of the trip. Sam and I contorted ourselves into uncomfortable looking positions and got ourselves to sleep for the just over 3 hour flight home, where the airport was jam-packed with the families of 44 very tired but very happy students. :)
