Today we left Hikkaduwa for Galle. We check out of our accomodation with no plans though this is the only way to travel. We get on a bus with little clue where it was really heading but we take a guess and with some luck arrive in Galle 20 minutes later. However the ride down was not uneventful. The bus was packed and the driver didn't feel the need to wait for me to get on the bus before he took off.

I had a random guy wanted to hold my bag and Steve thought he had paid my ticket but it turns Out that he paid for the girl that got on in front of us, nice guy that Steve is. At one point my ass was directly in the far of the poor guy who was holding my bag as scores of people tried to flee the bus for their stop.

Arriving in Galle we hunt down a tuk tuk to take us to our accommodation that we are yet to book. It is stifling hot here and the last thing we feel like doing is trekking around with our packs in 35 degree heat. Steve volunteers me to be the accommodation scout and I'm off on a mission. My hot tip for Galle in peak season is book ahead because I was rejected countless times when asking for a room. One guest house owner even laughed out loud at me saying you come to Galle now and not book a room then proceeded to laugh. I have to admit looking back on it now I would have laughed at me too.

Finally I track down a room however poor Steve is not impressed as it is a queen size bed so it looks like we are bunking tonight. It's off to see the sunset and get some good food that as recommended to us then off to the city wall after that.
