So I haven't even been in Florence for a week yet, but classes have already started (I guess it is a STUDY abroad program).  But that doesn't mean I can't have some fun with it!  I've decided to drop my Modern Italy class, which really doesn't go beyond anything I've covered in high school, and instead take an introductory drawing class.  This class teaches the same techniques used by Leonardo, Michaelangelo, and Raphael.  We take several trips to museums, churches, and even a day trip to Rome to draw at the Vatican.  Like I said, not too bad!  I'm also taking Intensive Elementary Italian, European Fascism, and Business Law.

Living in the city of Florence is amazing, but we do have to commute about 45 minutes to campus.  Its about a 15 minute walk to the bus, which takes us just outside of campus.  One can choose to walk to campus, which would take about an hour, but between the 90 degree weather and the incredibly steep hill many take the bus.

Regardless, the commute to campus is worth it.  NYU's La Pietra campus consists of over 57 acres of land, and 5 villas.  Villa Natalia houses the Office of Student Life (and a dining hall), while all of my classes are in Villa Ulivi.
