Ciao from Florence!!  I'll try to post major parts of my trip(s) on this blog and post pictures when I can...

My flight (Aug 25th) was delayed 30 minutes out of Newark airport, but we still somehow managed to make it to Paris an hour early -- and its a good thing we did!  In Paris we switched terminals, went through a few passport checks/questions, went through a (LONG) security line again, hopped on a bus which took us to our plane, got delayed an hour, and still landed in Florence 15 min early.

Everyone in Florence is very nice, but communicating with the locals has been somewhat difficult.  My Spanish has come in handy from time to time, yet some words are completely different.  The Italian professors here gave us a crash course in Italian during orientation week -- I can't wait for that class to start!

The best part so far is hands down our housing -- its a PALACE!!

Our apartment is absolutely gorgeous -- easily 20 foot ceiling in the common room, frescos on the ceilings, 2 balconies, fully renovated kitchen, free laundry room (kind of a big deal since one load costs 6 EUR and we're the only NYU building that doesn't have to pay), 3 bathrooms, and 5 huge bedrooms between 14 girls.  We live up one flight of stairs (considered the 1st floor) and my single is sort of on the second floor of the duplex with a bathroom and the laundry room.

Campus and Florence pictures to come...
