I'm feeling the opportunity slipping away to do a lot of the active things that I can do here since I'm leaving next week. I still have some congestion, so I don't think I'll be able to dive this trip.

Yesterday I went out for a bike ride in the morning. If you look at the race map, I went up the road that runs along the northwest side of the island, pretty much to the tip. The wind was strong out of the northeast, so it was at my head all the way out. I chose not to tackle the hills I was considering when I got to the top of the island. The wind was so strong that when I was riding back with the wind at my back, the shadows of the clouds were easily passing me unless I was going more than 25 mph.

I worked in the afternoon. I have to do some of that while I'm out here.

This morning, Dave and I went on a hike. The goal was to find the trail on which I got my Hash name last trip. We were successful. We hiked through the jungle to the base of Suicide Cliff, then climbed up through some steep but hikeable old landslide areas to Spreadable Crag where we've been rock climbing. After that we took a more maintained trail back down to where we left the car at the bottom.

I had my wrist GPS with me. Excluding the almost flat hike back to the car when we reached the bottom, we only went about one mile horizontally, but we climbed almost 700 feet and came back down in that time.

Again, I worked in the afternoon. That was sort of frustrating. I'm dealing with a difficult problem porting some code that works well on the Mac and Linux to Windows. They're such different operating systems at the programming level. I put in a lot of effort with little to show for it.
