Where I stayed
San Jose Apartment
I got off to a slow start on Saturday. I dropped Suka at work then came back to the apartment, where I just finished breakfast, did my bookkeeping, finished cleaning up, and layed around and read.
After lunch I got a little busier. I stopped by the Hyatt to buy tickets for the evening's magic show. The ticket office wasn't open yet, so I had some time to kill around Garapan. I had also planned to go to American Memorial Park (map pin location). I've found my interest in Pacific history has greatly increased with the time I've spent out here, so I wanted to get some books to fill in the gaps in my knowledge. The gift shop at AMP is the best place on island to do that. I also watched their 21 minute movie. I ended up buying some books and a History Channel DVD. The DVD was about the WWII battles for Saipan, Guam, and Tinian.
I still had more time to burn, so I tried out a new coffee shop while I finished the book I was reading. That's new to me, not new to the island. I'd seen it several times while walking from parking to the street market, but I don't spend much time in Garapan, so I'd never tried it.
Finally, I bought the tickets at the Hyatt. It started raining hard while I was doing it, so I waited out the storm in the lobby.
