So we came round a corner... banks of white sand and palm trees... t´was the place we are staying ... .. white sand, banana/pineapple trees, 28 degrees... the sea is 24 degrees... (pint of beer is 1euro 30... had to mention that... you know... important stuff.. hehe) we are kinda wishing that we had booked more time here.. we might manage a few more days on the way back from our travels.
This is the place BTW :http://www.amabo.org.br/en/fotogaleria.html
Flight to Lisbon, stayed one night (def going back... chilled mc chilled.. very nice city!), 8 hour flight to Salvador, 30 min taxi to ferry, ferry for an hour to Bom despacio (spl?) where we grabbed a bus for 2 hours, met some half-cut bloke on the road that had a small alu fishing boat (it was v.dark at this stage and we were in the middle of nowhere... you think Mexico might look poor but man this is in the complete boonies!) tied up at the side of the bridge just off the road... monster yamaha engine on the back (that had the tendency to pop its driveshaft off now and again... ) so he took us through the mangroves at full throttle for an hour... it was crazy... no lights, no lifesavers, fully dark and going at what felt like lightspeed skirting the mangroves, then he´d pull a hard turn to avoid half sunken trees... just glad there was a full harvest moon!! It was mad but absolutely FANTASTIC! Such a rush!!! Michael Palin NUTTIN!
