Where to begin with Nice, I spent a week there in May 2005 and I am writing this in march of 2006. Well, one thing I can remember, it was one of my favourite places, I had such an amazing time. My hostel was awesome and I kept myself busy basically everyday. Up at 930am for breaky and gone by 1030 and home by 4. I dont remember the order I did things, but 2 days we went cliff jumping in a beautiful little town outside of Nice. it was awesome, and the first time I had ever been in the ocean. Nice was actually the first place I had seen the ocean, and its actually a sea. the cliff jumping was wicked. the second day it was a little scarier b/c the wind picked up and the water was choppy and me and this other girl had trouble getting outta the water, our hands and legs were cut and bleeding and it was kinda scary, but it was still worth it. one of those days after cliff jumping we went to monaco and checked out monte carlo. we found a cheap pizza place and a group of us had some lunch, walked around admiring the nice cars and checked out the famous monte carlo casino. they were setting up for the grand prix while we were there so we checked that out as well. 2 of us lost the rest of the group, but eventually ran back into them at the train station back in Nice. Anyways, I was also there during the Cannes film festival so made my way to Cannes one day, sat on the beach and then went to watch the red carpet ceremony for the premiere of Star wars, the 3rd one. it was pretty cool, got to see samuel l jackson, hayden christenson, and a bunch of other star wars people. from a distance, but you could still see them and it was pretty interesting. Another day me and some other people went and checked out some old roman ruins in Nice and a couple other things, got lost and spent a lot of time walking around, in the rain, but it was a lot of fun. Another day we just walked around Nice and went for the coffee and crepes in a cute little cafe. The weather while I was there was horrible, but it was still a great trip. It rained everyday but one. The highlights of Nice were Cap D'ail where we went cliff jumping, it was such a gorgeous town, the coastline was incredible, and probably Cannes. I think I remember Nice so much b/c it was on of my favourite places. i had a great time partying with people I met and to this day keep in touch with some of them. One happened to be the cousin of some guy I went to school with. Our cities were 15 minutes apart so it wasnt a big surprise. I highly reccomened everyone see Nice.
