Hi everyone!!

I am in Queenstown at the moment, which is in the South Island. I arrived about 4 days ago but landed in Christchurch which is about 8hrs north East of here. It is absolutly FREEZING here - about 7 degrees yeaterday and 5 degrees today and considering that i only brough summer cloths with me, i just freeze where wever i am! I had to buy a thick jumper as soon as I arrived on saturday evening as I was so cold. I wearing both jumpers every day plus my coat plus 2 layers underneath my jumpers and 2 pairs of socks and I still freeze!!!!!

On Sunday (day 1 of the tour) we first stopped at Lake Tekapo which had some amazing views. A small group of us took a flight over mt cook and the fox glacier that day which was spectacular - got some really cool shots of the mountains. We stayed at a place called Lake Ohau that night which was VERY isolated - it felt as if it was in the middle of no where (which it probably was!) but we had some cool views of Mt Cook esp when the sun was setting and the mountains had a mirrored reflection over the lake - all at different colours! Got pics of them all but left the photo CD in the hotel room so will upload them as soon as I have access to another computer! There was an outside hot tub at the hotel so 5 of us went but it was SO HOT!! and the outside it was freezing - like 3C!! But you dont feel the cold - I was baked! The stars were all out that night so we were able to see the southern cross - me, being me, asked where the North Star was.... so everyone had to point out that we were in the Southern Hemisphere!! hehe....!

Yesterday, day 2, a girl (Liz from Camberley) and I from my tour went up the Dart river where Lord of the rings was filmed on the wilderness jet boat! it was AMAZING - got to see some great scenery as well as doing 360 degree turns and getting soaked at the same time!! It was FREEZING though (again!) despite my 5 layers plus the long 'western' style coat and lifejacket that i wore!! I could freel my feet for the last half an hour of the trip but the cup of hot soup when we stopped off on the way back was lovely!

We are staying at a really nice hotel in Queenstown called "the Rydges" is only a 2 min walk into town as has a TV (so we can watch neightbours! By the way karl and Izzie eventually do have an affair!!! thats for you Hannah ST!) the bathrooms also have lovely HOT *POWER* showers which was ideal yesterday after spending most of the day freezing to death on the river!

We went to Milford Sound today on a day trip - so we had to get up at like 5.15 AM !!!! I was a lil bit disappointed with it as it was only a smal trip round a lake and then that was all there was there! I tell you I am so exhausterd tonight but I've gotta be wide awake tomorrow as i am doing a THRIOGY - 3 bungee jumps, ranging from 43 metres to 134 meters!!! hehe.... I got to used to the idea of just doing one so I decided to do two but then when you do 3 you get one jump free so you might as well do all 3 if ya see what i mean!! hehe.... Sorry Mum and Dad but its just got to be done! Will get pic's and video's of them all to show you when i get back to the UK!!

I hear that the weather is good back home?? Will be thinking of you all getting a tan whilst i am freezing my arse off here in New Zealand!
Love ya all, and email me soon xxx
