We checked out of our hotel in Tiberius this morning and headed for the Jordan River to renew our Baptismal vows at a place called Yardenit. This is not the actual site where John the Baptist baptized Christ. The true area is on the Jordanian side of the Jordan River and is only open once a year.
Then afterwards we went to one of Israel's National Parks, Beit She'an. I've included a link to where you can read more about all the different layers of cities dating all the way back to Egyptian ocupation in Canaan.
We then proceeded to make the hour or more drive to the West Bank city of Jericho, on the Palestinian side. After eating lunch and doing some shopping we left Jericho and headed for Bethlehem. We drove through the outskirts of the city of Jerusalem then through the Bethlehem gate, first stopping at Shepherd's Field and then to the Church of the Nativity. It's hard to describe The Church of Nativity without doing it justice. Father Vince said Mass there in one of the underground cave rooms. Before leaving we were able to go and touch the exact spot where Christ was born. We left the church just as it was closing, then headed for our hotel, Jacir's Palace. It's a beautiful hotel, like any 4 or 5 star hotel in the US.

Great pictures!
Dear Father Vince,
Thank you for the updates and pictures - they are beautiful! My dad Larry is along, so it's fun to follow the trip from here. Will you please tell him and Amy that I sent my love? Oh, and congratulations on their renewal! - Lindsey
