Well Uruguay has been a quick pit stop compared to the other countries we have visited but one we have both thoroughly enjoyed. It has not been long enough to really go through the whole normal process I would go through so I will just say the following

- having the opportunity to stay on an estancia was a fantastic and enjoyable experience even if the weather had other ideas. pedro and Nahir were such lovely hosts and we hope to return one day with better weather and perfect the ability to ride a horse.

- finally getting back to the beach, even if the weather was too co,s to enjoy it. It is nice just being near the beach, it is just somehow far more relaxing than being in a city.

Costs:
We spent $1,860 in 13 days or just over $71 a day each, which is the most we spent in any country on a per day basis anyway. It should be noted a large portion of this was doing the estancia in Tacurembo with it costing almost $1,000 over 5 days (including getting there). We also spoiled ourselves a it compared to other countries with staying in double rooms and also eating out more time than we would have otherwise.

A rough breakdown of the spend was:
Sights and Activities: 45% (primarily our stay at the estancia)
Transport: 21%
Accommodation: 18%
Food : 15%
Other: 1%

I don't know much about Uruguay. How would you rate it's natural beauty in comparison to the other countries you have been too?

Given it is alot smaller than other countries we visited it does not have the same variety. Also apart from Tacurembo we stuck to the coast. I would say the interior is a bit barren but nice from what we saw with mostly just farms and small towns. The coast is probably the best we have been to but at the wrong time of year. I probably would not come here for nature there is far more in Argentina and Brazil, but it is a nice place to visit for beaches.
