What I did
walked
Our first day was slow and tiring. We took a leisurely walk through Yuyuantan Park near Aunt Yun's apartment. It was filled with the wide variety of exercise activities pursued by the retired. Kaela and Hsing-ay briefly joined in the ballroom dancing. Later Kaela tried the streamers.
Almost all day we fought to stay awake. We had a nice afternoon meal at our relative’s favorite local restaurant. We had Peking Duck, spicy bullfrog, bean curd, pea cake, and green vegetable (the Chinese frequently do not give a good translation for their green vegetables). It was also very good to spend time with Hsing-ay’s aunt and uncle.
Clearly it is very hard for a five-year-old to adjust to a completely inverse time zone. We’re hoping that today will go much better. It’s very nice that the first few days are very low key.

Aren't those retired people wonderful!
Yes, it is inspiring how much exercise they get in China.
Wow...looks like you guys are having a blast! I wish we had some of that equipment at our parks...I'd go more often (: Tell Kaela that Mrs. Robinson says hi!
